‘The Vampire Diaries’ Star Paul Wesley Trades Fangs For Pastry Chef’s Hat; Polish Star To Appear In New Flick ‘Mother’s Day’

"The Vampire Diaries" star Paul Wesley will be temporarily trading his fangs for a toque as he stars alongside Sharon Stone and Susan Saradon in the upcoming indie film, "Mother's Day."

The Paul Duddrige-produced film will likewise star Sarandon's daughter Eva Amurri Martino. In the film, Phoebe Tonkin's boyfriend will play the role of a pastry chef named Kevin who also happens to be the love interest of Martino's characters.

As the film's title suggests, "Mother's Day" is a drama which will explore the dynamics of mother-daughter relationships. Twelve connected mother-daughter relationships will be featured in the film.

Meanwhile, the Polish actor recently opened up about his "Vampire Diaries" character Stefan Salvatore to Vulture. While it might break fans of Stelena's (Stefan and Elena) tandem, Wesley thinks that there's no love triangle anymore.

"I almost don't feel like it's a love triangle anymore. I know it's advertised as that - and I know that's how it started. But Elena and Stefan are so platonic at this point that I just don't really see that ever happening again," he said.

Nonetheless, he assures fans that while things change, he does not know what producer Julie Plec "has up her sleeve."

Since he doesn't fancy the idea of Stefan reconciling with Elena, some fans are wondering whether he's back to the apathetic Stefan or worse, the "Grim Reaper" one.

Wesley responded: "Not exactly. But season six is a bit of a reset for him. He's been through a lot. Damon causes a lot of drama. They're not in high school anymore, thank God! He's going into his own head, working with his hands, tuning it all out."
