iPad Mini 3 Specs, Release Date: New Apple 'mini' Slate' Won't Get New Design, But Boast A8 Chip, Touch ID Fingerprint Sensor, Official Launch Is On October 16

If you are a fan of Apple's tablets, then you may be looking for more details about the iPad mini 3 specs, release date and pricing. Fortunately, you don't have to wait much longer as the device would be unveiled in October 16.

According to a report by Phone Arena, Apple has confimed that it will indeed announce its upcoming tablets in the said date, which includes the second generation of the iPad mini Retina or the iPad mini 3, and the new version of the iPad Air.

In the report, there should not be any design changes for the iPad mini 3 this year, as it is already a proven detail that is loved by many consumers since the mini slate was announced in 2012.

However, just like other releases from the Cupertino manufacturer, the new iPad lineup is expected to get updated specs and more powerful performance.

In the report, the new iPad mini Retina should get the new A8 chipset that is also found in the latest iPhones, as well as the Touch ID button that has fingerprint scanning powers. That also means the device would get Apple Pay feaures.

While photography is not the strength of tablets worldwide, the new iPad mini will still get Apple's 5MP shooter with better features than most cameras in the market today.

While pricing has not been detailed just yet, the Cupertino giant could very well stick with its old pricing strategy to keep the iPad mini premium, but is also a decent alternative to those who can't afford the Air.
