HTC Market Share Improves A Little, But Falls Short Of Expectations, Chinese Company TCL Interested In Acquiring Taiwan-Based Manufacturer?

For the past three years, the HTC market share has seen a continuous decline, and some of the main culprits for these is the rise of Samsung, emergence of tougher competition and the compromise that the company takes in its devices.

However, that does not mean that HTC does not come up with high-end and premium-made smartphones.

In a report by Phone Arena, the only major difference that sets it apart from other world-renowned manufacturers like Samsung or Apple is the lack of an effective marketing department.

HTC may be producing some of the best smartphones in the industry, but unless people actually begin to know more about the company and its devices, those high-end phones would just not meet the projected sales.

However, in a new report, a Chinese manufacturer is allegedly interested in acquiring HTC.

Li Dongsheng, chairman of Chinese manufacturer TCL, hinted recently on a Weibo post that his company is planning to acquire HTC and join forces to bring down the heavyweights in the smartphone industry.

TCL is the company that acquired Alcatel several years back, which helped the phone maker recover and release decent smartphones which are fairly priced to get the attention of the mass market.

If this deal does push through, this could mean that we may be seeing more HTC phones which pack decent specs but get more affordable prices.
