Marian Seldes Dies At 86, Tony-Winning Actress Died Peacefully On October 6

The actress Marian Seldes died at her home on October 6 following a long illness.

In the report of the CBC, Marian Seldes dies at the age of 86, her brother Timothy said that she died peacefully at her home.

Timothy announced the death of the Broadway community's favorite figure, who won a 1967 Tony for her role in A Delicate Balance held at a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for four-year run in Deathtrap.

"It is with deep sadness that I share the news that my dear sister Marian Seldes has died," he said in a statement," Timothy said in a statement in the report of the CBC.

"She was an extraordinary woman whose great love of the theatre, teaching and acting was surpassed only by her deep love for her family," he added.

Marian Seldes, who dies at 86 was nominated for a Tony five times according to CBC. On Delicate Balance, Father's Day, Deathtrap, Ring Round the Moon and Dinner at Eight.

Furthermore, according to the report of Variety Seldes was born in Manhattan and by writer and critic Gilbert Seldes and socialite Alice Wadhams Hall.

Seldes first marriage to Julian Clarman which ended in divorce and married again with Garson Kanin in 1990, who died in 1999.

In the report of the Variety, no memorial or funeral service will be held for Marian Seldes, who dies at the age of 86, according to her wishes.
