First AC/DC Album Without Malcolm Young 'Rock or Bust' Available for Pre-order Today, Oct. 7

AC/DC new album "Rock or Bust" is available for pre-order via ACDC.com and all digital retail outlets starting today, Oct. 7, the band announced. "Rock or Bust" is the first AC/DC album in the band's 41 year history without founding member Malcolm Young, "Rock or Bust," will be released on December 2. "Rock or Bust" is AC/DC's first studio album of all new material in six years.

Fan who pre-order 'Rock or Bust' before its official December 2 release will get the track "Play Ball" instantly.  "Play Ball" will also premiere on iHeart Media's Mainstream, Active and Classic Rock radio formats starting today with multiple spins throughout the day.

"Play Ball" is currently being featured as part of Turner Sports' 2014 Major League Baseball Postseason campaign. Turner Sports started running the AC/DC track 'Play Ball' as part of the 2014 Major League Baseball Postseason campaign on September 27.  TBS, the exclusive home to this year's American League Postseason coverage, will run it for several weeks.

AC/DC also released the full track listing and cover art for "Rock or Bust." The cover is a non-traditional, three-dimensional lenticular cover which gives the illusion of the band's iconic logo exploding as the packaging is moved in different directions.

'Rock or Bust' was recorded in Spring 2014 in Vancouver, BC with producer Brendan O'Brien and mixed by Mike Fraser.  'Rock or Bust' is the band's first album of new material in six years, following their immensely successful 'Black Ice,' which entered charts at #1 in 31 countries and has sold nearly 8 million copies worldwide.

Brian Johnson reportedly wanted to name it "Man Down" as a tribute to Malcolm Young.

AC/DC will go out on a world tour in support of "Rock or Bust" staring in 2015.  Joining the band on tour will be the nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, Stevie Young. Young played rhythm guitar on "Rock or Bust."

AC/DC was put together in November 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. They moved to Australia from Scotland in 1963. Brian Johnson replaced Bon Scott, AC/DC's original lead singer who died on February 19, 1980. Scott died of "acute alcohol poisoning" after partying all night at the Music Machine club in London. Brian Johnson joined for AC/DC's Back in Black album.
