‘Deadpool’ Movie Release Date Set Before ‘X-Men: Apocalypse!’ ‘Merc With A Mouth’ Will Open The Gateways For The New X-Men Universe!

The "Deadpool" movie has officially been given the green light by Fox and they even placed the release date ahead of "X-Men: Apocalypse!"

Fox has grand plans with the Merc with the Mouth, and they actually intend to make the movie somewhat of a gateway for the new plot and characters (perhaps more Liefeld creations) for the next phase of the growing X-Men Universe.

A recent interview with Simon Kinberg, X-Men writer, reveals that much, courtesy of Cinema Blend.  

On Deadpool fitting in: "They do all feed into one another in the sense of wanting to tell this sort of massive story that can take place over multiple movies."

The general vision: "We are aware as we are plotting out Apocalypse and the other X-Men movies - both potential sequels in the future and standalone movies - and trying to build them all together so that there is a singularity of vision. And obviously a timeline that makes sense as well, because these movies all, well not all, but many of them take place in different time periods, so that all those things will link up and make sense for an audience."

Meanwhile, Rob Liefeld, who has seemingly anguished with the delay of his creations making their big screen appearances, expresses his delight. From Newsarama:

"I'm thrilled for Tim Miller, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Ryan Reynolds as well as all the guys at Blur Studio! This is a tremendous achievement for them! Rhett and Paul wrote a brilliant, and I don't throw that word around loosely, a brilliant script! Audiences are going to go on the ride of their collective lives with this film as they envisioned it! Tim Miller is a genius, he is brilliant as everyone who witnessed the leaked footage witnessed! There is so much more to come! Deadpool fans will freak out when they see all that Tim and the boys have in store for them!

The release date still gives enough time. Of course, 'Apocalypse' is a much bigger production and there are even rumors of recasting-just like what they did with "X-Men: First Class."

The "Deadpool" movie is seen as a triumph of social media as the impressive reaction to the leaked Deadpool footage is perceived to be the main cause of Fox's approval of the project.
