'Maze Runner' Sequel Release Date Set On 2015! 'Scorch Trials' To Feature More Death Defying Adventure; 'Game Of Thrones' Star Aidan Gillen As Villain

"Maze Runner" sequel release date has recently been announced by 20th Century Fox following the highly successful prequel in the box office.

The second installment of the film that is based on James Dashner's book series entitled "Scorch Trials" will hit theaters on Sept. 18, 2015, according to Hollywood Reporter.

The young adult hit movie opened with an impressive $32.5 million sales locally adding $37.6 million worldwide. The gained a total of $81.5 million worldwide.

There hasn't been any confirmed cast in the upcoming "Maze Runner" sequel but it will most likely include original stars, Dylan O'Brien of "Teen Wolf," Thomas Brodie Sangster, Kaya Scodelario and Will Poulter.

However, The Hollywood Reporter, already claimed that "Game Of Thrones" star Aiden Gillen is already confirmed to play the villain role, Janson also known as "Rat-Man" in the second installment of the highly successful planned franchise of 20th Century Fox.

In addition, GeekTyrant reported that Gillen will be joined by "Breaking Bad" actor Giancarlo Esposito together with Rosa Salazar and Jacob Lofland.

Esposito is said to be playing the leader of a group known as the Cranks, named Jorge. Salazar on the other hand will play Brenda, "a character who runs around with another group of teens (as that group's lone female), who ends up paired with O'Brien's character when both end up on the run in tunnels underneath a city."

While, Lofland is reportedly going to portray the role of Aris Jones, said to be a significant character in the "Scorch Trials."

"After The Gladers escape the maze, they meet Aris and discover his connection to the maze and the people who built it."

The future "Maze Runner" movies could also include "The Death Cure," which was also penned by James Dashner.

Filming for Maze Runner sequel will start on October and will be released next year.
