'To the Beautiful You' Implements 'Matrix' Filming Method

SBS's new Weds/Thurs drama, "To the Beautiful You" will be the first in Korea to try the "Matrix" filming method. This involves over 100 high-speed cameras, making one scene out of a hundred consecutive pictures. It was used in the third installmment of the "Matrix" trilogy, but this particular method was created by the crew of the K-drama, using pictures rather than video.

The first episode will be aired on the 15th and the drama will begin its story about high-jumper gold medalist Taejoon and a cross-dressing fangirl Jae Hee, and the hilarity that ensues. Audiences will be able to see every detail of Minho as he jumps with an impressive bell curve.

The drama will depict the unbridled passion of the teenagers played by Sulli, Minho, Lee Hyun Woo, and Kim Ji Won, creating a good ensemble to portray real high school romance this summer. The story revolves around an elite sports high school, with each character in different areas of sports. Because sports is the main character in the drama, they decided that they wanted to capture these scenes in a new and refreshing way.

The production company said, "We are trying a lot of things to capture the sports scenes with more energy and detail. We will be trying other methods besides the "Matrix" method and we're trying our best to make sure that our drama exhibits the utmost quality."
