Upcoming Motorola Phones 2014: Droid Turbo A.K.A. Moto X Play Certified By FCC, Could Be Announced This Month

If you are a fan of upcoming Motorola phones for 2014, then you probably need to check this out.

According to recent reports from Phone Arena, the an upcoming handset from the phone maker has already passed the FCC in the US.

Dubbed as the Moto Droid Turbo, the device has been tipped to be a part of Verizon's lineup of Android devices from Motorola. However, in the report, the bands which are supported by the model which appeared on FCC are LTE Bands 2, 4, 5, and 17, and GSM and WCDMA frequencies at 850MHz, 1700MHz, and 1900MHz.

In the report, these bands support AT&T and T-Mobile, and not Verizon.

This means that the specific model, model XT1254, which passed through FCC may not be the Droid Turbo after all, but its variant which would be hitting AT&T and T-Mobile this month.

The device has been codenamed Moto X Play due to slightly higher end specs, making it ideal for mobile gaming. The phone also packs the same quality, premium build, and affordable pricing.

Based on previous reports, the Droid Turbo or Moto X Play will feature a 5.2-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 805 chipset and a 20MP primary camera.

Those specs appeared in an alleged benchmark test from GFX Benchmark, though we should still take that with a pinch of salt.
