OnePlus One Release Date: High-End Android Handset Gets Performance Improvements In New Update, But Would It Still Matter?

While some markets are still looking forward to the official OnePlus One release date in their respective countries, the makers of the 'Flagship Killer' smartphone have started rolling out a massive update to improve the performance of the device.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the new software has been released for the smartphone's CyanogenMod 11S (38R) software. It includes various improvements including a more sensitive touch screen, ability to shoot RAW images, and a new lockscreen to keep the device fresh in spite the competition in the market today.

In addition, there would also be some improvements in terms of audio playback quality, where the OnePlus One would now be able to play 24-bit, 96KHz/192KHz high-quality "*.flac", "*.alac", and "*.wav" types of audio files.

However, in the report by Phone Arena, probably the best improvement is the battery life, which is a must for every decent smartphone.

In the report, there are a number of other changes and improvements to the OnePlus One smartphone that will surely be a welcome treat for the chosen few who were able to buy it.

  • Added method for users to report bugs directly to Cyanogen.
  • Added pause button during video recording.
  • Fixed issues with camera exposure compensation stuck in 'auto'.
  • Fixed issues with '4G Preferred' option not connecting to 3G data.
  • Fixed issues with delay in torch activation.
  • Fixed issues with unresponsive screen requiring reboot.
  • Fixed issues with static in speaker when changing volume while headset plugged in.
  • Fixed issues with rotation not triggering when rotated slowly.
  • Fixed issues with Quiet Hours / system UI causing battery drain on last day of month.
  • Fixed issues with camera not starting when LED torch is already on.
  • Fixed issues with Bluetooth volume low on connection.

While the OnePlus One smartphone has failed to become a flagship killer due to supply problems, its makers want to make sure to keep its consumers happy and contented.
