"To the Beautiful You" & "Answer 1997" Acting Idols Are Here To Stay

Idol actors of "Respond 1997" are hard at work and meanwhile, audiences are now waiting on the edge of their seats for what "To the Beautiful You" will be able to show them.

On the other hand, tvN "Respond 1997" is garnering a lot of attention and buzz, with its positive reviews and fans talking about the good old days of H.O.T and Sechs Kies, the first generation of idols.

A Pink's Jung Eunji and "Super Star K" Season 1 winner Seo In Gook has caught much attention to start with. INFINITE's Hoya has also been perfoming well in his first acting gig though he plays a complex role because the character he is portraying is thought to be gay.

Seo In Gook has been in one drama already but Jung Eunji and Hoya have never been in anything before. However, they were able to score these roles right off the bat. However, the doubtful critics have all been silenced, as the audiences are incredibly positive about their performances on the new sitcom.

Relative success of "Respond 1997" has fed into the excitement for "To the Beautiful You," which is another drama filled with new idol faces on the block.

The lead girl, Sully, actually started her pop career in movies and drama before she debuted as a member of f(x). Therefore, her first lead role in "To the Beautiful You" is raising curiosity about how she will be able to perform and if she will be able to differentiate herself. The short-haired, cross-dressing Sully is also an appealing and intriguing image.

SHINee's Minho is already being scrutinied for possible risk factors in his acting but he has also paid his dues already in an SBS sitcom before.

It has been said that Minho was able to carry on a crying scene for 3 hours straight without a single NG take. When shooting began, he was able to get to his emotions quickly and shed tears on the spot, which impressed the crew. It would also be interesting to see how Minho's athletic history in his portrayal of a high jumper.

ZE:A's Hwang Kwang Hee will also add to the excitement of it all as a cute villain who will make Sully's life difficult.
