MAMA's 2014 Kiss Was Supposed To Be Between Jo Se Ho & Lee Guk Joo

Fans watching the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards were confused about where the promised annual kiss performance was, since no celebrities kissed. Mnet representatives clarified the matter shortly after the live broadcast.

Mnet revealed that comedians Jo Se Ho and Lee Guk Jo were expected to partake in a kiss performance during the MAMA live show, but in the middle of the performance Jo Se Ho told Lee Guk Jo that he could not finish the stage as planned. The two left the audience in laughter when Lee Guk Jo repeatedly exclaimed, "but you have to!"

MAMA's year end ceremony has had a kiss performance during the past few year's live broadcasts, and Mnet had announced that there would be another performance for the 2014 show. After the broadcast ended, there was confusion over what had happened exactly.

During the live broadcast, Jo Se Ho could be heard saying, "Even though it's the MAMA [live performance], I can't do it." His protests and Lee Guk Joo's insistence left the nearby audience members, who overheard the conversation, laughing at the comedians' actions.

The comedians didn't stand on the main MAMA stage, but performed amidst the celebrity viewers. Lee Guk Joo performed part of Sunmi's "Full Moon," and Jo Se Ho performed Taeyang's "Eyes, Nose, Lips," while both singers sat nearby. The songs were supposed to end in the kiss, but the two ended it in their own special way.

Lee Guk Joo and Jo Se Ho have gained much popularity lately due to their appearances on the second season of the popular SBS show, Roommate.

At previous MAMA shows, BEAST's Hyunseung and 4Minute's HyunA shared a kiss during their TroubleMaker performance. Other MAMA kissing pairs include f(x)'s Victoria and Super Junior's Ryeowook, Big Bang's Taeyang and 2NE1's Dara, Ivy and 2PM's Nichkhun, and Big Bang's T.O.P kiss with Lee Hyori.
