Fashion Magazine W. Korea Denies Pictorial Homage Claims Surrounding Nine Muses ‘Drama’ Images

Korean fashion magazine W. Korea recently released a statement regarding the plagiarism controversy surrounding girl group Nine Muses pictorial, stating, "We were not consulted about the issue and therefore should not be quoted in the matter."

Through a news release on the 15th, W. Korea stated, "We are releasing this statement as a way of correcting the miscommunication surrounding the Nine Muses jacket images." "Star Empire did not contact our editorial nor our photographer Hong Jang Hyun about the issue so the rumor stating that they received permission to use their images is not true."

The controversial rumors surrounding the validity of Nine Muses jacket images for their new album "Drama" surfaced on the 14th, right after the image release. The concept of the album images had the members with short, pastel-colored hairstyles, seemingly to show off a doll-like vibe.

In an interview with OSEN, Star Empire commented, "There is no copyright infringement for the album images as it is simply a pictorial homage to the magazine. " "We contacted the magazine prior to the shoot and there seemed to be no problems then."
