Olivia Wilde Dishes On Upcoming 'Tron 3' Movie; Spoilers And Details Revealed!

Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund will be reprising their roles in the upcoming "Tron" sequel, "Tron Legacy." The announcement came as a surprise to some fans as the first movie did not do particularly well in the box office.

As known to the public, there has been a five year gap from the time the movie was released in 2010, to the announcement that things were underway for the follow-up film.

But Wilde, who plays Quorra in the movie, dismissed the delays and the setbacks and even said that they were essential in finding the "right story" for the sequel.

In an interview with Collider during the Tribeca Film Festival, the actress talked about her return to Tron, and the storyline her character will have in the movie.

Quorra, along with Garret Hedlund's character Sam Flynn will be escaping to the real world. Their new life in the real world will take centerstage in 'Tron 3's' story, particularly, all the adjustments that they will have to make given their new environment.

"I love this character of Quorra so much, and I've built her with Joe Kosinski, and we took her such a long way from what was written to what we made," Wilde shared. "I mean, I fought for her to be this kind of androgynous child and that's so not what you typically see in these movies, so I'm so grateful that the producers let me play with her and make her this strange little being."

"I'm really excited to see what happens to that character when put into the real world," the actress added. "I think it's an interesting concept."

The 31-year-old also revealed that her interest in artificial intelligence and its relevance today has really fueled her passion for her character and how she will adapt to her environment.

"I'm fascinated by all discussions of AI, and especially now today and now with virtual reality becoming something that's like a personal device, I think it's the time to tell this story," she said.
