On September 19, an official from Jennie's side shared that the dating rumors between the artists were false. It also added that Jennie and BamBam are only friends and that they only had a meal in the United States.

"The rumors about a romance with BamBam are not true. The two have only been close friends for a long time, and they only met in the United States and had a meal."

The location in the photos was reportedly a well-known Japanese restaurant in Los Angeles. Sports Chosun also added that Jennie and BamBam were also accompanied by their managers.
