Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have filed for divorce. The celebrity couple have officially filed in their divorce papers after they announced that they have separated last year.

As previously reported, the couple had been married for 10 years prior to the split. E! News reported that the couple's lawyers have been negotiating the terms of their divorce, especially the details of the division of their assets and the conditions of the custody of their children.

The source of E! News said that "irreconcilable differences" will be the reason stated in the divorce filing.

Gwyneth revealed the couple's decision to divorce on her lifestyle blog, "Goop" last year. The actress said that they have chosen to "consciously uncouple" was the best decision for their family

"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," the "Mortdecai" actress wrote. "We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate."

"We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been," the statement continued. "We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time."

Indeed, the two have spent plenty of times with each other last year, with their two children Apple and Moses. In fact, the source cited above also reported that the family were together in the Bahamas when the divorce papers were finalized.

The amicable couple were even supportive of each other's new relationships. Gwyneth even gave her approval on Chris Martin's new love, actress Jennifer Lawrence. In a guest appearance on the Howard Stern show, Gwyneth shared, "It's his decision...He wouldn't be with someone who isn't great."
