'Winds Of Winder' Spoilers Create More Anticipation For Release Date; George R.R. Martin Washes Hands On Deaths In 'Game Of Thrones'

The spoilers focused on Sansa Stark teased by George R. R. Martin only ratcheted up the anticipation for the "Winds of Winter" release date. Meanwhile, the author claimed that he shouldn't be blamed for any future death in "Game of Thrones."

In an interview for The Hollywood Reporter, George R. R. Martin revealed that he has no power to change the fate of characters in the hit HBO series.

"I consult on this, so I give my opinions, but I don't have any right to veto or approval," he said, adding that it all boils down to budget.

"Writing books, I literally have a cast of thousand. We don't have that many named characters in the Night's Watch on the TV show. We can't afford to cast that many. So they'll kill Pyp and Grenn and get an emotional response because the viewer knows who they are," he added.

George R. R. Martin has limited his appearances and cut down on some of his projects in order to rush the "Winds of Winter" release date. The author earlier confirmed that he's not writing an episode for "Game of Thrones" so he could focus on his novel.

Previously, iDigital Times suggested that "Game of Thrones" season 5 is entering spoiler territory in the books, which is why George R. R. Martin should work on the "Winds of Winter" release date soon.

"We have come to the days when Game of Thrones will furnish us with Winds of Winter spoilers, for the show has begun to pass the books," it said. "The first of those big spoilers is something we have suspected for some time, but now it has become true: Griff and Young Griff, who weren't on the casting lists, are indeed not in Game of Thrones season 5."

George R. R. Martin released a 6,000-word spoiler focusing on Sansa Stark on his website, which only heightened interest for the "Winds of Winter" release date.

"I wish it was out now. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish. But I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interviews-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done," he told Entertainment Weekly.
