Stana Katic's Instagram Post Hints 'Castle' Season 8 Renewal? Actress Marries Long-Time Boyfriend
A new report can possibly explain Stana Katic's long silence over fans' clamor for her to renew her contract with ABC bosses for "Castle" season 8. It turned out that the actress, who plays Beckett in the series, got married.
People confirmed that Stana Katic married long-time boyfriend Kris Brkljac last weekend on her 37th birthday.
"The couple married 'in a private family monastery on the Dalmatian coast,' the actress's rep tells PEOPLE in a statement, sharing a photo of the newlyweds' rings."
Stana Katic has not issued a official statement on whether she will renew her contract for "Castle" season 8, even as Nathan Fillion already committed to reprise his role as Rick Castle.
"An ABC spokesperson confirms that Nathan Fillion has signed a new deal to continue on as the title character for Season 8, if the show is picked up for the 2015-16 TV season," said Yahoo.
Meanwhile, the actress' Instagram post may hint of her return for "Castle" season 8. She shared a selfie with the two showrunners which she captioned, "These are my men. Before I go radio silent, I want to single out these two: Rob Bowman & Andrew Marlowe... What an incredible creative collaboration! I will go anywhere with these two. Their commitment to great storytelling, their incredible work ethic & their talent made them a dynamic pairing. #Kinetic #Love."
For his part, Andrew Marlowe said they are trying to make a season 7 finale satisfying for fans whether or not Stana Katic will renew her contract for "Castle" season 8.
"It was a bit of a challenge to craft a [finale] when there was so much uncertainty about the show's future, with our [actors] in negotiations, not knowing if we're coming back and all that sort of stuff," he told TVLine.
"We were trying to craft a show that had a satisfying conclusion if it is indeed the conclusion, but also some really great, interesting, compelling springboards into next season's storytelling - if the gods shine upon us and we're allowed to continue."
