'Buckwild' Star Arrested For Drug Possession: Salwa Amin Busted For Heroin and Oxycodone

A star of the controversial MTV reality show "Buckwild" was arrested for two counts of drug possession early Monday morning.

Salwa Amin stars in "Buckwild"---a show that has been described as a redneck version of "The Jersey Shore." The 24-year-old Amin was arrested for felony drug charges in Charleston, West Virginia for allegedly possessing heroin and oxycodone.

Amin was hiding in a shed when authorities raided the drug den, TMZ reports.

According to Summersville Police Chief J. Nowak, local police received a tip that a drug shipment would be delivered on Sunday to the Nicholas County home. After observing a constant flow of people coming in and out of the house, Nowak says, police obtained a search warrant and launched the raid.

The "Buckwild" star was discovered along with alleged local cohorts Shawn Booker and Jason Jones, in a backyard shed, according to the Nowack. Police discovered "a large quantity of Oxycodone" in Amin's purse and "a sizeable amount of cash" on Booker, according to E!News. Police say three bags of heroin were discovered in the shed.

The home allegedly belongs to Jones.

The trio was arraigned Monday, and bail was set at $200,000. According to current reports, Amin has yet to post bail.

"Buckwild" premiered on MTV on January 3, as the network attempts to recapture the national attention it received, as "The Jersey Shore" became a part of pop culture.

Back in December, Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., asked MTV to cancel the show.

"As a U.S. Senator, I am repulsed at this business venture, where some Americans are making money off of the poor decisions of our youth," Manchin told UPI. "I cannot imagine that anyone who loves this country would feel proud about profiting off of 'Buckwild.'"

Last week MTV announced the show was picked up for a second season thanks to solid ratings. MTV spokeswoman Candice Ashton told CBS the network doesn't have any comment at this time on Amin's arrest.

According to Salwa Amin's "Buckwild" bio, Amin is a recent college grad living with her parents who "is always down for a good time."
