Carnival Triumph Safely Docks in Mobile, Alabama Port

The Carnival Cruise Line held a news briefing Thursday night as the Triumph was docking in Mobile, Alabama. Officials are asking for the patience of all the passengers as it may take up to five hours for everyone to disembark as there is only one functioning elevator.

In a news briefing that was less than an hour ago shared the ship was five miles away and would arrive between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. CT.

Passengers were cheering as the ship pulled into port and singing "Sweet Home, Alabama," and someone on board shouted, "It's good to be home!"

As passengers are headed home, Triumph will be moved to a repair facility for assessment.

There have been no deaths or serious injuries since the Triumph left Galveston, Texas, last Thursday.

All passengers are expected to receive a full refund and discounts on future cruises also Carnival announced they would each get an additional $500 in compensation Wednesday.
