'Dance Moms' Star Abby Lee Miller Admits She Has 'Long Way To Go' With Weight Loss; Credits Slimmer Figure To Her Mom's Death

Even if Abby Lee Miller lost a lot of weight, the "Dance Moms" star admitted that she still has a long way to go from her ideal body.

According to People, Abby Lee Miller dropped from 24 to size 16 but her slimmer body was not intentional, so she didn't resort to diets, exercise nor went under the knife for extreme measures.

"I'm not slim by any means," says Miller. "I have a long, long way to go."

She narrated that her weight loss began when her mom was admitted to the hospital and she didn't agree with the hospital food.

"I think it was a little bit mental with me," the "Dance Mom" star said.

Abby Lee Miller's mother died in February 2014 and she found herself back to filming episodes for the Lifetime reality series in a studio in Los Angeles. The problem was there was no air conditioning and "was hot as hell."

"Nobody was eating a lot," she recalled.

She was also taking prescription medicines because of onset of diabetes and ran out of pills during production of "Dance Moms: Down Under" last summer.

Abby Lee Miller, who runs her own dance studio in Pittsburgh, explained, "I had to get a prescription refilled - lo and behold, there's something different about that prescription in Australia."

"I would take this medicine and within an hour, I was vomiting like I was in fourth grade and had the flu or like I had food poisoning," she added. "It was awful. After I would throw up, I couldn't even look at food for the rest of the day."

And that's how Abby Lee Miller said she lost weight.

"There's no diet, there's no exercise, there's no this, there's no that," the 48-year-old "Dance Moms" mentor said.

Nevertheless, Maddie and Mackenzie Zeigler's mom, Melissa, and Kendall Vertes' mom, Jill, are happy for the weight loss of Abby Lee Miller.

They're very happy, mainly health-wise for me," she said.
