Pearl Jam Sells Ten Million Copies

Pearl Jam reaches a pinnacle of selling ten million copies of their 1991 album, "Ten."

This is only the 22nd band to reach this pedestal since Neilson Soundtrack scanning began in 1991.

It may have taken over twenty years, but its an accomplishment for the rock band.

Pearl Jam's "Ten" is 5.86 million away from catching up the number one seller according to Billboard, Metellica's, "Meticalla."

It's still something you can boast about. Pearl Jam is a part of an elite club. Recently, the band sold out Wrigley Field in Chicago for a concert. It was the quickest sellout in concert history at the historic baseball field.

Pearl Jam is currently working on a tenth studio album. "I don't think there's any doubt we're going to make a record, but when that's going to be, and when everybody is ready to do it, well that's another story," Pearl Jam Bassist Jeff Ament said. "There's no pressure. So if at any point the guys called up and said, 'Hey, we're ready to do this,' I'd have no problem dropping everything because that's my first love. I'm going to do whatever works for everyone else." The band has reportedly recorded "seven or eight songs" for the upcoming album.

Maybe twenty years from now, the band can reach ten million Itunes downloads.
