Savannah Cat Fight: Lions Fight And Are Caught On Camera In The Serengeti National Park [VIDEO]

Lions fight and are caught on camera.

Not your typical cat fight that's caught on camera.

The Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. was where the photographer, Andrew Atkinson, witnessed and photographed the mayhem that was about to ensue.

Hell broke loose in the African Safari. As the sun rose, a male lion from one pride approached another pride of lions. Approaching the other lions slowly, intensity would increase when the other lion didn't back down.

"The safari truck he was on pulled up as the dominant male strode over to kick-start the turf wars between the big cats who can tip the scales at anywhere up to the 180kg mark," reports Yahoo News.

With the action caught on camera, a real battle was about to get underway.

Face-to-face, teeth showing, mouths wide open, the lions were ready to roar.

They stood up, tied up with one another as they both tried to cast the first blow. Atkinson was able to film more of what happened.

One male lion was approaching cubs and possibly causing a threat. That lion would be ganged up on by a group of lioness.

This erupted of a war between the two prides. Chaos continued until eventually both prides parted ways.

There were no visible signs of blood or injury.

It wasn't the only catfight caught on camera recently that didn't involve celebrities. Last July, photos were taken when a lioness saved the day of her cubs.

A crocodile came out of the water, stalking toward the cubs, until the lioness jumped out to protect her own.
