Green Day Lead Singer Out Of Rehab; Tells All In 'Rolling Stone' Interview [REPORT]

Lead singer of Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong came out of rehab and talked about his troubles of drug and alcohol addiction.

The Green Day singer woke up himself before September ended as he checked himself into rehab. He is now out and willing to tell and be open about it to Rolling Stone.

The proverbial straw that broke the camel's back came after an onstage meltdown. It drew headlines around the world, causing him to realize he needed help.

Armstrong's addiction got to the point where he said in the interview, "I couldn't predict where I was going to end up at the end of the night."

An addiction is a serious matter that addicts don't believe is as serious as it is. Sometimes it takes something drastic to really open your eyes. For Billie Joe Armstrong, it was the aftermath of his meltdown.

It was during a festival in Las Vegas when a producer told Green Day to wrap up their number in a couple of minutes. The Green Day front-man didn't like that and that's when the drama ensued.

He said he didn't even remember it the next day. Armstrong didn't remember much at that time.

"I'd wake up in a strange house on a coach," Armstrong told Rolling Stone. "I wouldn't remember how. It was a complete blackout."

The next day, he asked his wife how bad it was and she replied, "It's bad." His eyes finally opened on how serious of an issue it was.

Armstrong then proceeded to call his manager. He then said that his manager told him, "You're getting on a plane, going back to Oakland and going into rehab immediately."

The full interview will be released in the next issue of Rolling Stone. Armstrong digs deep into his drug and alcohol addictions. It also includes when he was filmed saying, "I am not [expletive]-in Justin Beiber, mother [expletive]-s" while smashing his guitar on stage.

Green Day is a punk rock band that formed in 1987. Armstrong and the rest achieved success all around the world, selling over 70 million records worldwide, with 25 million in the United States. The group has won five Grammy Awards and looks to continue their success with the lead vocalist back and healthier.

Green Day was forced to stop in its tracks causing a layaway from the music scene. Nothing has been announced on when the band will pick up on its schedule that was following its latest album,  "¡Tré!"
