TOWIE Series 8 Off To A Dramatic Start

The cast of TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex), the hit UK reality show, has had some major happenings this week including a swearing ban, a breakup, and a pregnancy scare.

The stars of the ITV2 show are no longer allowed to use expletives on the set according to producers.

TOWIE cast member Billie Faiers admitted the new rule has caused her usually lewd co-stars to tone down their behavior during filming. When asked in an interview who the rudest member of the TOWIE cast is, Faiers replied, 'It's hard to tell because in the new series we aren't allowed to swear, so no one really does it any more.''

The latest episode also saw the emotional breakup between Lucy Mecklenburgh and Mario Falcone. Lucy moved out of the couple's shared apartment after learning Mario had become close with Amy Broadbent, a new cast member. Mecklenburgh decided she could no longer trust boyfriend Mario.

In one scene Mario was seen being comforted by his mother in her kitchen. He sobbed, "I swear I haven't done anything. It really hurts. This is the worst f**king day of my life!"

As Falcone's mom, Kim, then pointed out, the couple has had a tumultuous relationship for the past two years and added, "The thing that's missing is trust."

Fans were shocked by the news that Lauren Pope, a TOWIE regular, took a pregnancy test for fear that she might be pregnant with ex-boyfriend Kirk Norcross' baby.

Pope could be seen awaiting the test results with best friend and fellow TOWIE cast member Chloe Sims by her side for support. She revealed in Wednesday night's episode that the test was negative.

TOWIE is currently in its eighth season and has been dubbed by many as Britain's response to The Hills and Jersey Shore. The BAFTA Award-winning show airs every Wednesday and Sunday at 10pm on ITV2.
