Jason Segel Splits With Michelle Williams After Dating One Year; Distance Too Far To Make It Work For ‘This Is The End’ Star

Jason Segel of How I Met Your Mother split with Michelle Williams of Oz The Great and Powerful after dating for more than a year.

The reason behind the split between Jason Segel and Michelle Williams hasn’t been released yet.

One rumor suggests that they broke up because of the difficulties keeping up with a long-distance relationship. Michelle Williams prefers to live in New York City with her daughter by the late Heath Ledger, Matilda, while Jason Segel calls Los Angeles home.

A source revealed previously that Segel and Williams were “totally in love. Jason is obsessed with Matilda. He’s been doing all sorts of ‘dad stuff’ with her, like drawing and playing music.”

Jason has previously said, “I think we would just very much like to be happy. That’s all I’m going to say about it,” about his relationship with Michelle.

Segel and Williams had been dating since early in 2012.

Jason Segel was the first man Williams was publicly seen dating since Leger died of an overdose in 2008, five months after Williams and Leger separated.

Segel’s next film, This Is the End is an action comedy about friends that have to deal with a series of cataclysmic events that ravage Los Angeles while learning about the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

He is acting in the film alongside James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson. They all play fictional versions of themselves.

This Is The End will be released to theaters on June 14, 2013.
