iPhone 5 Jailbreak Soon Impossible: Apple Patch 6.1.3 Update Fixes Bug Needed To Untether iPhone 5

The latest iPhone 5 jailbreak update will soon be rendered useless by Apple's new patch update version 6.1.3.

The most popular iPhone 5 jailbreak, evasi0n, could be made completely ineffective with Apple's newest patch update, for the OS, 6.1.3, according to Forbes.

One creator of the iPhone 5 jailbreak, David Wang, said that the developer version of the patch eliminates one of the five bugs necessary for the evasi0n jailbreak to run.

Any untethered phone that attempts to patch their system will prevent the jailbreak from working at all, which means re-jailing the iPhone 5.

Apple's new iPhone 5 patch also ends the updates and support for the month-old untethering software that finally freed iPhone 5 from mainstream carrier plans.

The patch will also fix the lock-screen bug on the iPhone that allows anyone to gain access to locked phones using brute force.

Any new or updated phones natively running the newest version of the soon to be released OS will not be able to access any of the jailbreak's features, according to IGN.

Evasi0n is still one of the most popular jailbreak software for the iPhone 5; it was downloaded 7 million times in the first four days after its release.

Apple has taken 3 weeks to respond to the jailbreak with any new developments, but the newest Apple patch will likely be released to consumers within the next month.

Although the Apple iPhone patch will end the evasi0n jailbreak, the developers on Evad3rs won't be done just yet.

Wang told Forbes that he and the other developers have found enough bugs in the iPhone 5 OS to try a new jailbreak soon.

Jailbreaking became legal after the Digital Millenium Copy Right act of 2010, but the warranty on your product becomes void after jailbreaking.

If users do decide to jailbreak their iPhones, they can always return to the original factory settings through Apple iTunes.
