Real Madrid Defeats Barcelona 2-1

For the second time in a week Real Madrid defeated Barcelona and the rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi tipped in Ronaldo's favor.

It was doubtful Madrid could pull off a win this game since Ronaldo was on the rested list for that game. He ended up only playing a half hour that game but it was enough to get a win for Madrid.

The assistant coach for Real Madrid told reporters after the game "Everyone was saying this week could end our season. We are very happy with how the games have gone."

Sergio Ramos scored the goal that broke the one-one tie and ultimately won the game for Madrid. "We deserved to win. The team has been strengthened by these clasico matches," Ramos said. "We are going to Manchester convinced, but with respect for our opponent."

This is Madrid's first home league win over Barcelona since 2008. Their next match will be against Manchester United on Tuesday March 5.
