'Zero Hour' Canceled: ABC Show Cancelled After Only 3 Episodes Due To Abysmal Ratings And Horrible Critical Reception

The mystery drama 'Zero Hour' has been cancelled. The cancellation of the ABC show has been confirmed by a spokesperson for the network to The Huffington Post.

The ABC Drama Zero Hour starred ER's Anthony Edwards, and has been cancelled after only three episodes.

Zero Hour's cancellation is not a surprise; it was ranked "the lease-watched premier for a scripted series ever on ABC" according to the publication.

The drama debuted to 6.3 million viewers and a very low 1.3 rating in the highly sought after 18-49 age demographic.

Zero Hour continued to drop in ratings throughout its short run. It's last episode that aired on Feb. 28 only earned a 1.0 rating and 5.1 million viewers.

Zero Hour received little critical acclaim, as well.

Matt Zoller of Vulture wrote, "I'm pretty sure there's nothing that Zero Hour could have done to make me like it more. Or like it. Even a little."

Even worse to note is that CBS was airing reruns during Zero Hour's time slot, and still attracted more viewers than ABC.

Zero Hour was competing with 'The Big Bang Theory' and 'American Idol' at its 8pm Thursday time slot. Prior to Zero Hour, 'Last Resort' held the 8pm slot.

Now that 'Zero Hour' will no longer air, repeat episodes of 'Shark Tank' will show on ABC on Thursdays at 8pm until 'Wife Swap' begins its seven-week run on March 21, and 'Wipeout' returns on May 9, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The ABC spokesperson told The Huffington Post that the network is still determining when the remaining episodes of "Zero Hour" will air, but it will likely be in the summer if at all.
