Honey Boo Boo Sells Girl Scouts Cookies Despite Facebook Ban; Reality Star And Mama June Determined To Help Raise Money For Local Troops

Honey Boo Boo is ignoring the Girl Scouts ban on selling cookies after the recent Facebook banner incident; the reality tv star was spotted selling the cookies at a Georgia mall.

Honey Boo Boo, whose birth name is Alana Thompson, was reportedly banned from selling Girl Scout Cookies on Facebook after she and her mother started an online campaign to help her friend sell the delicious cookies.

She posted a banner featuring a picture of Honey Boo Boo on her Facebook page. The banner advertised Girl Scout cookies, including the listed price and contact information, for her 700,000 fans to see.

Marketing and communications officer for the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia Debbie Caballero told ABC News Radio, "What we felt was inappropriate is that it appeared that 'Honey Boo Boo' herself was selling the cookies, and she's not a Girl Scout."

However, Honey Boo Boo, star of the TLC Series 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo', and her family found a way around the Girl Scout ban: by setting up a table to sell at the Milledgeville Mall in Georgia, according to E! News.

The 7-year-old was photographed holding a sign as she promotes the Girl Scout cookies.

The entire Honey Boo Boo family joined her, including Mama June, Pumpkin, Chubbs, Chickadee and Sugar Bear.

Honey Boo Boo is not a Girl Scout, but she decided to use her celebrity status to help her friend sell the cookies.

Mama June reportedly encouraged her youngest child to help her friend.

Honey Boo Boo's mother told TMZ, "If I can raise more money for a troop, whoever they are, especially in an area where they don't get a lot of money, and parents can't afford to buy a ton of cookies, why wouldn't I help?"
