Mel B Booed On ‘Americas Got Talent’ For Insulting Brass Music In New Orleans [VIDEO]

Mel B was booed on America's Got Talent during the first day of her role as a new judge.

The America's Got Talent audience loudly booed Mel B for insulting brass music on the hit talent show that airs on NBC.

Mel B joined Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Howard Stern as judges in New Orleans on Monday for the taping of America's Got Talent. The first act of the day was a very popular New Orleans-based brass band called Lagniappe.

Mel B allegedly told the band that she's not a fan of brass music.

The audience quickly responded by booing Mel B and telling her to "Go Home" and "No Respect".

You can watch the offending band in a video below.

Mel B became upset over the intense crowd reaction against her, and leaned over to Howie Mandel for comfort.

The former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown, replaced former judge Sharon Osbourne after Osbourne left, reportedly because her son was dropped by another reality show aired by NBC. Mel B joined the judge's panel this season with newcomer Heidi Klum.

Klum is no stranger to the judge's panel; she is the host of popular fashion design competition show Project Runway that airs on Bravo.

NBC is hoping that Klum and Mel B will boost audiences for the summer show, which experienced record low numbers during its September finale with less than 11 million viewers, according to Reuters.

NBC president of alternative programming Paul Telegdy said, "As we look to develop an act that will get the world's attention, we and the contestants will benefit from Heidi's international sensibility and understanding of what works in today's global entertainment industry."

America's Got Talent is open to audition to singers, dancers, magicians, and other performers who compete for the top prize of $1 million.
