Bruce Springsteen To Return To London’s ‘Hard Rock Calling Festival’ After Authorities Cut His Mic Last Year For Breaking Curfew

Bruce Springsteen will return to the Hard Rock Calling festival despite having his microphone cut off while doing a duet after the town's curfew with Paul McCartney last July.

The festival will be moved from Hyde Park to the Olympic Park because residents in the Hyde Park area do not like being disturbed by late night noise, hence the previous year's curfew.

Springsteen broke a 10:30 curfew when he invited Paul McCartney on stage to sing a duet. It's rock and roll, when have they ever followed the rules? Authorities cut off the mics, but Springsteen didn't seem to notice at first.

After a few seconds and some confused looks, Springsteen and McCartney finished their song a cappella for the first few rows then went off stage.

Guitarist Van Zandt went on Twitter and ranted about the experience.

"The cops got nothing better to do? How about they go catch some criminals instead of f-ing with 80,000 people having a good time. English cops are the only individuals left on earth that wouldn't want to hear one more from Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney. I'm sorry, but I have to be honest, I'm pissed! Like I said, it didn't ruin the great night, but when I'm jamming with Paul McCartney, don't bug me."

He would later apologize saying he had nothing against the Hard Rock and it was a "stupid city council rule."

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will play on the second day of the Hard Rock Calling festival in June. They will also be touring this spring to promote the album "Wrecking Ball."
