Stern To Replace Fallon? Radio Personality, ‘America’s Got Talent’ Judge Howard Stern May Replace Jimmy Fallon On ‘Late Night’

Jimmy Fallon is the front-runner for taking over the 'Tonight Show' when Jay Leno retires in 2014, and rumors are flying that Howard Stern will take over for Jimmy Fallon on Fallon's current gig, 'Late Night.'

There has been no official announcement as to whether or not Stern will take over for Fallon or not.

Stern already has his own radio show on Sirius and is a judge on the reality competition show 'America's Got Talent.' Would the shock jock be able to handle the demanding schedule taking on all three projects would come with?

If Stern were to replace Fallon, he would bring a mixed demographic to the NBC's late night line up. Until his judging gig with 'America's Got Talent' Stern had always gathered an older audience, but his AGT fame has made him popular with kids too.

Stern's wife Beth, told the New York Post, "We were in a hotel and all these little kids recognize him now as the judge from 'America's Got Talent.' Usually it's their dads. But now it is screaming little kids. People are now seeing him for who he really is."

Howard Stern is no stranger to late night TV; he taped several episode of 'Late Night" when he was set to replace Joan Rivers as host, but the tapes never made it to air. In 1998, Stern's radio show was aired on late night Saturday TV.

Nobody from NBC or representing Howard Stern will comment on how much truth there is to the rumor that Howard Stern will replace Jimmy Fallon, but his name is the only one being tossed around.
