Mandy Moore Exits ABC Pilot ‘Pulling’

Mandy Moore decided to exit the ABC show 'Pulling' when writers took her character in another direction.

Moore was one of the first actors cast on the show 'Pulling,' as Louise she was going to play a 30 something single woman looking to get married. Moore didn't like the direction her character was going and they changes the writers were making as the rest of the cast was coming together.

Deadline reports Moore as saying, "many things change quickly as the pilot moves into production, and in this case, Lee and Gene (the show's writers) moved the character in a different direction, it was clear that this wasn't right for me. Rather than jeopardize the show, I asked to step aside."

There was no animosity between Moore and the writers of 'Pulling." Moore wished them luck in the Fall and the writes said they look forward to an opportunity to work with her again.

ABC's 'Pulling' is an adaptation of the BBC show by the same name. The show was wildly successful in the UK. It centered on Donna, Karen and Louise, three single friends living in London.

The ABC show will focus around the same three women as they try to get their lives together. There is no word on who will replace Many Moore as Louise.
