6 Teens Killed, 2 Injured in Ohio SUV Crash, No One Was Wearing Seat Belt [VIDEO]

Six teens have been killed while injuring two as a sport utility vehicle Sunday morning crashed into a guardrail that sent the vehicle into a pond, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The Honda Passport carrying eight passengers drifted off to the left side of a road, tipping over the vehicle after hitting the guardrail, just south of Warren, Ohio, about 60 miles east of Cleveland.

Investigators say the vehicle landed in the swamp and sank with five of the victims trapped inside. The sixth victim was hurled outside the SUV during the crash was found under it when the vehicle was taken out of the water.

The two survivors escaped and ran to a nearby home to call 911, the highway patrol said.

The crash that occurred at about 7 a.m. and police say there was no information regarding the possible causes or factors in the crash, however say speed contributed to the crash as it was traveling more than 70 mph when the driver lost control.

The state highway patrol said that all eight were from Warren and it's not believed that any of them were closely related.

Two of survivors, 18-year-old Brian Henry and 15-year-old Asher Lewis were treated for bruising and other injuries and released.

The victims killed in the crash were 19-year-old Alexis Cayson, Andrique Bennett, 14, Brandon Murray, 17, and Kirkland Behner, Daylan Ray, and Ramone White, all 15.

Authorities found that the vehicle appeared to be overloaded, and that no one was wearing a seat belt, WKBN said.
