Oklahoma Executes Convicted Killer Steven Thacker: Perp Murdered Three Victims In A 10-Day Spree That Spread Across Three States

Oklahoma executed a man on Tuesday convicted of stabbing a woman to death in 1999. The man killed her after she responded to a classified ad. The convicted killer murdered two more victims while he fled from authorities in a 10-day spree, according to the Associated Press.

Steven Thacker, 42, was executed shortly after 6 p.m. at Oklahoma State Prison in McAlester on Tuesday.

In 1999, Thacker responded to an ad for a pool table placed by Laci Hill, 25. Thacker went to Hill's home in Bixby, Okla. where he kidnapped, raped and murdered her.

Police allegedly didn't find Hill's body until six days later.

Police say Thacker was broke and wanted money to buy Christmas presents for his wife and her two children.

The convicted killer was identified on a surveillance camera using Hill's debit card. He then went on the run, as police pursued the ex-plumber's assistant who had recently lost his job.

Soon after, Thacker stabbed 24-year-old Forest Reed Boyd in Aldrich, Miss. when Boyd caught Thacker burglarizing his home, during the convicted serial killer's 10-day crime spree.

Thacker then allegedly killed Ray Patterson when the 52-year-old reportedly responded to Thacker's request for a tow.

The victims' families and friends attended Thacker's execution Tuesday.

"I don't deserve it, but as God has forgiven me, I hope you will forgive me for the pain I've caused," the convicted serial killer said in his final statement while strapped to a hospital gurney.

Thacker then thanked his family and friends for their support.

"An eternity in heaven is mine," he added.
