'Prometheus 2' Spoilers And News: Sequel Pushing Forward In 2016

Production for "Prometheus 2" will reportedly push through in January with Ridley Scott at the helm, according to the latest news and spoilers for the scifi film that apparently developed almost cult status after it was released in 2012.

According to SciFied website, Ridley Scott is just focusing on "The Martian," and after a brief rest after the release of the Matt Damon movie this coming November, he would be back again for "Prometheus 2."

An issue of Total Film magazine had a pull quote of Ridley Scott saying, "I've got back into the science fiction thing. I kind of adore it."

But Perri Nemiroff of Collider wrote that it's better to take the "Prometheus 2" news and spoilers from SciFied with a grain of salt.

"The Prometheus 2 start date isn't a direct quote, but I'd like to think that the outlet got the information from Scott himself," he wrote.

"If that is the case, perhaps Prometheus 2 really is a go, but I'm still hesitant to consider that start date a sure thing, especially because, as we know, things change and there's still a lot of work to be done."

Another news from Entertainment Tonight on "Prometheus 2" claimed that January 2016 "might be an overly optimistic start-date"

"Back in March, there were also reports that Green Lantern screenwriter Michael Green was rewriting a Prometheus 2 script that featured more aliens and more android Fassbenders," it said.

"But a source close to the project tells EW that despite those encouraging previous reports, the script is still being worked on and January might be an overly optimistic start-date."

There aren't many spoilers for "Prometheus 2" in terms of plot and that's probably because Ridley Scott has yet to approve of the final draft for the script. Although, with the rumored January start date for filming, fans can expect more news on the sequel in the months to come.
