KStarz In Focus: SHINEe In A Week
March 2013 has been official declared the reign of SHINee. Debuting nearly five years ago with their mini album Replay in May 25, 2008 SHINee has managed to release 15 albums and 15 top singles in Korean and Japanese. Even though its been 11 months since the release of Sherlock, their recent win as the most popular group in K-pop at the 27th Golden Disk Awards in January proved SHINee's staying power and Shawols' dedication to the dazzling five. In this edition of KStarz In Focus, we'll pinpoint the most interesting events surrounding SHINee during the week of March 4th 2013.
The promotions for SHINee's new full album Chapter 1.DreamGirl-The Misconceptions of You was officially released February 19th with their title track Dream Girl. Dream Girl's concept is an obvious departure from SHINee's last two hits Sherlock and Lucifer, but yet keeps that SHINee essence with the contemporary styling, catchy chorus, and intricate mic stand dance. With the boys' revamped look, it was only a matter of time before a popular sporting goods brand was naming SHINee as their new endorsement models as a result SHINee brought a renewed energy and style to the revamped Skechers brand.
With SHINee's promotions in Japan, SHINee World Concert 2 Tour, and SM Town Concerts there was limited or no interaction with international fans until a few weeks ago with the premiere of SHINee's vacation documentary show Wonderful Day that reveals the hijinks and laughter that arises when the boys travel abroad for some much needed R&R. Even some lucky fans had a chance to chat with the amazing group during a Google live chat hosted by A-Pop Channel.
Mid-way into their Dream Girl promotions SHINee has appeared on few of the major variety talks shows such as Beatles Code 2 giving Shawols a much needed hour of laughter. SHINee also proved they are complete pros despite mishaps that might happen during their stage performances on major music programs such as MBC's Show Champion and Mnet's M! Countdown, their performance was so mesmerizing that they had to be crowned "Triple Crown" winners for both Show Champion and M! Countdown respectively. With only two weeks left until the end of SHINee's Korean promotions for Dream Girl the group has already released their 7th Japanese single Fire; but don't cry too much Shawols, the boys already announced the release of Chapter 2.Dream Girl-The Misconceptions of Me in April.
