'Girl Group Syndrome' Takes Over 2013? 'More to Come'

2013 has started off with many female groups.

Although it seems like 2013 just started, we are already in March. In just those three short months, many female groups and rookies have debuted or made comebacks.

Starting off with January, Girls' Generation made a shocking comeback with their new song, "I Got a Boy." This song was praised worldwide and ranked number 1 on various music charts and sites. This was the beginning of the 'girl group syndrome'.

Girls' Generation continued to top charts and music programs as they hit a 'triple crown' on "Music Bank." They also received many views on YouTube for their music video as well.

In February, SISTAR's unit group, SISTAR19 made a comeback with their song, "Gone Not Around any Longer."

This song also swept up the number 1 spot on charts and sites.

During the same time as SISTAR19's release, many other arists incldugin Leessang, Huh Gak and others also released new songs. Even with all the competition, SISTAR19 remained at the top of the charts.

Duo Davichi also released an album for the first time in 5 years and received an overwhelming response from their fans. 

Girls Day also made a comeback and Girls' Generation Taeyeon also released an OST for a drama.
