'Castle' Season 8 Spoilers: Rick Retraces Father's Disappearance; Mom Martha Still Very Much Part Of His Life

Rick will try to investigate his father's disappearance and, in the process, learn more about his disappearance prior to the big wedding with Beckett. Spoilers for "Castle" season 8 also claimed that Martha might come back to the reality show in a guest appearance.

Showrunner Terence Paul Winter told TVLine that Martha remains "very much a part of Castle's life."

"Don't think that just because she now has her own place and is doing well on Broadway that we're not going to see her sharing her wisdom with her favorite and only son," he said.

During the ending scene of the episode "The Wrong Stuff," Martha announced that she's moving on when she called for a family meeting with Rick and Beckett.

"I have decided, and I don't want to upset anyone of you, that I'm going to look for a place of my own," she said.

When Rick protested, Martha quickly shushed him up.

"This is not about you, this is about me, think of it as a kind of evolution. I'm starting to do very well for myself and I am guessing before too long there's going to be a few more little Castles creating havoc around here and I think the two of you deserve to have this place to yourselves."

Multiple spoilers for "Castle" season 8 revealed that the two-hour premiere will revolve around Rick's pursuit to get the truth behind his father's disappearance, which is inexplicably linked to his missing time during the crucial moments when he was attacked on the way to his wedding.

Also, the premiere will touch on Beckett's new turn as captain of the force, which could mean that Rick would be partnered with somebody else for field cases.
