'Fashion Police' Returns For VMA 2015; New Host Margaret Cho Makes Fun Of Giuliana Rancic

"Fashion Police" returned for the MTV VMA 2015 red carpet review. According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, one of the highlights was when new host Margaret Cho made fun of mainstay Giuliana Rancic.

The guest host for the premiere episode of "Fashion Police's" MTV VMA 2015 commented on the dreadlocks worn by this year's host, Miley Cyrus.

"I feel like that hair probably smells like pot and patchouli," Margaret Cho said.

An embarrassed Giuliana Rancic used a pillow to cover her face as the guest host jokingly apologized. Margaret Cho's joke echoed the controversial comments made by Giuliana Rancic months ago about teen star Zendaya Coleman.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the E! mainstay was blasted after she said the Disney star's dreadlocks at the 2015 Oscars made it look like she "smelled like patchouli oil or weed."

The backlash from Giuliana Rancic's joke about Zendaya Coleman is the alleged reason behind the untimely departures of former hosts Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin.

According to a report from Washington Post, new host Melissa Rivers also poked fun at the former cast members at "Fashion Police's" MTV VMA 2015 review. The 47-year-old is also the show's executive producer and daughter of the late comedy icon and ex-host Joan Rivers.

"Yeah, it's been a little bit of a crazy year around here. And, well, I'm still cleaning up messes," she said.

Melissa Rivers then pulled the lint-roller out from under the set's couch. Attached to the lint remover were two clumps of purple and red hair, referring to the hair color of resigned ex-hosts Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin respectively.

"But the good news is 'Fashion Police' is back!" Melissa Rivers said after the joke.

Aside from Margaret Cho, Giuliana Rancic and Melissa Rivers, others who were present at "Fashion Police's" MTV VMA 2015 red carpet review were celebrity stylist Brad Goreski and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Nene Leakes.
