Nina Dobrev Lands TV Role Post 'The Vampire Diaries? Ian Somerhalder's Ex Joins 'The Notebook' TV Series

Nina Dobrev has not signed on to another TV series following her exit from "The Vampire Diaries" but there's an opening coming up, and one website claimed that she would be perfect to play the lead in "The Notebook" series.

Maggie Pehanick wrote for Pop Sugar that casting for Noah and Allie-played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in the film-is ongoing.

"The first question that comes to mind is: who will take over the parts of star-crossed lovers Noah and Allie? Surely no pair can live up to Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams! Well, we came up with a few possibilities," she wrote.

The article went on to list the possible forerunners for the two romantic leads in "The Notebook" TV series, which will be executive produced by Nicholas Sparks.

Among the names were Colton Haynes and Nicola Peltz, and then there's "Teen Wolf" star Dylan O'Brien and former "The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev.

"Now that Dobrev has exited The Vampire Diaries, she may be looking for a new role! OK, probably not on another drama on The CW, but a girl (me) can dream," she added.

While former "The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev joining "The Notebook" series is unlikely, Ian Somerhalder's ex's latest film, "The Final Girls" is earning rave reviews.

The synopsis for "The Final Girls" read, "A young woman grieving the loss of her mother, a famous scream queen from the 1980s, finds herself pulled into the world of her mom's most famous movie. Reunited, the women must fight off the film's maniacal killer."

Earlier, Celebrity Dirty Laundry claimed that since leaving "The Vampire Diaries," Nina Dobrev has been spending a lot of her time partying and drinking because Ian Somerhalder's ex couldn't find work.

Meanwhile, "The Notebook" TV series, according to EW "will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina."
