The recent sighting of singers Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson did not mean anything romantic!

According to E! Online, a source insisted that there is nothing beyond friendship that is going on between the two and that they are just "super good friends."

On Thursday night, the 22-year-old former "Hannah Montana" star and the 18-year-old Australian singer were spotted enjoying dinner with some friends at The Nice Guy in West Hollywood after the MTV Video Music Awards.

Based on the narration of the source, the after-party was actually hosted by Miley Cyrus to welcome Cody Simpson. The said gathering was reportedly highlighted with a cake shaped like a penis which caused the "Pretty Brown Eyes" singer to burst into laughter.

"[Cody] was dying of laughter," the insider told E! Online. "He thought it was the funniest thing."

Although it can be observed that the two were kind of cozy while sitting side-by-side, the insider emphasized that there is "absolutely nothing romantic" between them.

After the dinner, the group continued their happy hour at 1OaK night club.

Meanwhile, Radar Online reported that the friends of Gigi Hadid, the recent ex of Cody Simpson, were allegedly bashing Miley Cyrus during and after the MTV VMA 2015.

While attending the Republic Records party at West Hollywood restaurant Ysabel, an eyewitness shared that Gigi Hadid's BFF Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were particularly talking about the "Wrecking Ball" singer's "racy act" during the VMA.

The multi-awarded performer and the former "Barney & Friends" alum reportedly thought that what she did at the VMA "from smoking marijuana to flashing her nipple -- were obnoxious and annoying."

"I can't believe we used to be friends ... I should've reached out that night she cut her hair and posted the pic on Twitter," the "Good For You" singer commented about her ex-close pal.

The source even continued by narrating that both Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were "in stitches, doubled over from laughing" when they heard Miley Cyrus, the new-found close fella of Cody Simpson, sing her first song from her new album called "Dead Petz" at the VMA.
