Jon Hamm: No Girlfriend, No ‘Mad Men,’ No Alcohol After Jennifer Westfeldt Break Up And Rehab

This isn't Jon Hamm's year. Following the finale of his seven-season run on "Mad Men" and a 30-day stay in rehab for alcohol addiction, the 44-year-old actor and his girlfriend of 18 years, Jennifer Westfeldt, announced their break up in a joint statement on on Sept. 7.

Now Jon Hamm has no girlfriend, no "Mad Men," and no alcohol.

"With great sadness, we have decided to separate, after 18 years of love and shared history," the couple told PEOPLE in a joint statement. "We will continue to be supportive of each other in every way possible moving forward."

The publication reports that their break up announcement comes after months of speculation that Jon Hamm and his girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt were on the rocks.

The two began dating in 1997 and starred together in the 2011 film "Friends with Kids." They were last seen publicly together on July 22 in New York at the premiere after-party for Netflix's "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp," where they were packing on the PDA.

Say goodbye to those kisses, Jon.

Earlier in 2015, the "Mad Men" star completed 30 days of rehab for alcohol abuse.

He's been clean and sober since and has been following a 12-step program.

In April, the couple even released a statement denying reports they had broken up.

"The story that appeared in this week's edition of 'In Touch' magazine is not true," the couple's rep said in a statement to PEOPLE. "The only gentleman Jennifer visited regularly in Connecticut was Jon, while he was in rehab. They continue to ask for the public's understanding and sensitivity during this challenging time."

"He needs [Jennifer]," a source told PEOPLE of the stability Westfeldt brought to the Mad Men star's life. "He has to have that in his life."

Westfeldt said in an April cover story for 'GQ' that "the darkness of Don [Draper] has weighed heavily on Jon."
