Korean Singer Eru's Multi-lingual Single Is A Big Hit Among Indonesian Fans

Earlier this month Korean-American singer Eru performed at the special KBS Music Bank concert in Jakarta alongside other well-known K-Pop groups SHINee, 2PM, TEEN TOP, SISTAR, Super Junior, INFINITE, and BEAST. It was a dynamic show for the Indonesian crowd who also got to see their local favorites S4 perform together with TEEN TOP.

After the show, the idol groups headed back to their various schedules, but Eru hung around the island. Then he surprised everyone when he released a new song written by and performed with the Indonesian comedian-singer Sule - and fans were amazed.

Now the song "Saranghaeyo (I Love You)" has been rapidly gaining momentum and is popular throughout the southeast Asian country.

The single was initially written as a joke and includes lyrics in Korean, English, Bahasa Indonesia, as well as the local languages of Javanese and Sudanese. While the words themselves are far from deep and meaningful, it is an entertaining tune with a lighthearted music video.

Fans were astounded to hear Eru sing in the traditional languages of their country and he is currently making his rounds of many Indonesian talk shows.

All around the internet there is a lot of talk about Eru's new song. Many fans hope that he will continue to make music in Indonesia, although he has not said one way or the other.

Even though the Korean-American singer has been around the K-Pop music scene for many years, he is not incredibly popular in Korea. "Saranghaeyo" is currently giving his international image a big boost. Perhaps we can expect more collaborations with artists from around the world soon, or, better yet, a new Eru album!
