Indian Star Mohanlal To Perform Psy's 'Gangnam Style' Next Month

Next month popular Indian film stars will stage a series of shows in Kochi and Sharjah, India, and one of the features will be a performance of Psy's hit "Gangnam Style."

The shows are sponsored by the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) who represent 'Mollywood,' the Malayalam-language sector of the Indian movie industry based in Kerala.

One of the biggest Mollywood superstars, Mohanlal, will show off his "Gangnam Style" dance moves at the shows.

Mohanlal also wrote about his experience learning the dance on a popular social networking site. "Now dancing to the tunes of the famous PSY's Gangnam Style at AMMA's Rehearsal Camp and guys I'm really enjoying this :). Oppan Gangnam style :D" he said.

Immediately following the post, the Indian actors fans responded their excitement over how he will add his own flare to the song and dance.

This is not the first time Psy's song has been the center of the Indian news. Earlier this month the Korean artist sold the remake rights to "Gangnam Style" to appear in a popular Bollywood film.

However, Mollywood's use and enjoyment of the song is somewhat more surprising. The Malayalam film industry is much different from the mainstream Bollywood scene in that the films generally portray more relevant subject matter and are characteristically less commercialized than their Hindi-language counterpart.

But it is nice to see that even serious actors can boogie down with "Gangnam Style."
