‘The Apprentice’ Announces New Host For Spinoff; NBC Still Mum On Donald Trump Replacement

"The Apprentice" has found a new host for their spin-off show "You're Fired." The development was reported by Huffington Post, as NBC is still mum about their replacement for Donald Trump.

Comedian Jack Dee confirmed on Friday that he will replace Dara O'Briain's in the said British spin-off series. The 30-minute show airs on BBC after UK's version of the hit American business-based reality competition "The Apprentice."

"I'm very much looking forward to hosting 'You're Fired' and hope that the luckless candidates will see me as the friendly face at the end of a difficult time in their lives," Jack Dee said.

Dara O'Briain's announced on January that he was leaving the UK series that he hosted for five years.

"I've decided to pass the chair on to someone else. In that time I've interviewed 84 wannabe apprentices," he said.

While the show's UK version seem to be doing well, the original "The Apprentice" is on the lookout for a new host after firing Donald Trump.

Denver Post recently reported about how NBC entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt shot down any possibility of keeping the business tycoon as host.

The fallout between the network and Donald Trump took place in June after the latter made racist comments about Mexican immigrants. Aside from firing the controversial host, NBC also cancelled its airing of the Miss USA pageant, which is owned by Donald Trump.

While the network is now openly looking for "The Apprentice's" new host, Bob Greenblatt clarified that he and Donald Trump had a good working relationship prior to his scandal involving Mexicans.

"He is a lovely guy," the network exec said. "He was very much a collaborator and worked with us closely on 'Celebrity Apprentice' and, you know, there's a really effusive great guy."

"We weren't in any sort of adversarial position," he added.

OK magazine also recently revealed that among those being considered to replace Donald Trump as host in "The Apprentice" is George Clooney's wife, Amal Clooney.

The 37-year-old human rights attorney and a graduate of Oxford and New York University School of Law is said to be a top pick among NBC executives.

"We want Amal. We think she could be the perfect fit," a network insider claimed.
