Selena Gomez Admits To Weight Gain, Fights Body-Shamers With Topless ‘Revival’ Album Cover

Selena Gomez admitted in a recent interview that she's had a tough year - but don't think she's going to let it get to her. The singer is fighting back against body-shamers and embracing her weight gain with a sexy, topless cover photo for her new album, "Revival."

"You have to understand that I dealt with a lot of body shaming this year and I've never experienced that before," Selena Gomez said, according to FishWrapper.com.

"I don't care about that stuff, but I did start gaining weight, and I didn't really mind it...Man, that hurt. That was really hurtful. Because I've experienced people who have tried to control that kind of stuff before, and I didn't care. This is my time."

In the cover photo for her new album, "Revival" - available in stores next month - Selena Gomez poses topless in a black-and-white photo.

"I want to do it the way I want to do it," Gomez says of the album cover photo. "It looks like a Linda Ronstadt photo. It's a '70s photo. I'm wearing high-waisted shorts that are obviously cut off. It's beautiful. I'm proud of that. It's not even about my weight. It's just that I'm not going to give a f--- what people say-sorry! I'm not going to let them get to me. I can do what I want. I'm not doing that all the time. It's beautiful. It represents that it's bare. I don't want diamonds and things all over me for the cover, and really thick makeup. I wanted it natural, so...geez!"

Selena has been at the center of a lot of media attention about her weight gain. She's been photographed in ill-fitting swimsuits, showing off a curvier figure. But we think she looks confident and healthy, and we hope that others do too.

The singer recently responded to an Instagram user who body-shamed her on social media, advising her to "stop eating junk food" and "work out."

Selena responded: "You're disgusting. IM IN the business and I could care less about what 'they' or you said I should look like. I don't need to do anything other than love myself, take care of my work, fans, family and friends...And I do work out. It's not your place to tell anyone what they should or should not do."

And who can forget that sexy Instagram photo Selena posted back in April in a revealing black swimsuit with the caption. "I love being happy with me yall #theresmoretolove."
