JYJ Prepares For Tokyo Dome Shows: Park Yoo Chun Opens Up About Why He's Debuting His New Single Live For The Fans [PHOTOS]

Five hundred fans gathered at a South Korean airport to bid a temporary farewell to K-Pop sensation JYJ on Thursday.

When the band landed in Japan, the crowd to greet them was twice as big.

"Because so many fans showed up to their entrance at the Japan airport, security had to remove benches and put up safety lines," said one official. "This type of action is usually not seen in Japan and shows just how popular JYJ is in Japan."

JYJ is in Tokyo to play a three-day concert at the Tokyo Dome starting on Tuesday.

The shows, which are being billed as "The Return of JYJ," are expected to draw 150,000 fans.

The shows conclude a four-year hiatus for the band.

JYJ's Park Yoo Chun announced on Monday that he would be debuting his upcoming debut single as a solo artist "I Walk Through Spring with Her" at the Tokyo Dome shows.

The JYJ singer, who is the only member of the group yet to release a solo album, explained why he wanted to debut his single live.

"I′ll be meeting Japanese fans at the Dome for the first time in a while," Park Yoo Chun said. "We′ve hit on many difficulties during the long wait, but we′ve come to meet again, smiling, in the end, and I wanted to give my song as a present to express my hopes toward our new start. I wrote the lyrics and melody with emotions that come with the new season."

Stylistically, "I Walk Through Spring with Her" is said to be a nod to Brit pop.

Last month, Yoo Chun opened up to the website KpopFighting.com about the difficulty he's had making the crossover from K-Pop star to actor.

"I am still lacking in some areas because I made the sudden transition from a singer into an actor," said the JYJ singer. "But as I grow older, I won't mind how others perceive me in future, and I can also attempt all kinds of rough and action roles."

The singer, who spent his JYJ hiatus honing his acting skills, hopes to attempt more serious parts when the group once again goes their separate ways.

"I really hope to attempt some strong roles, or action films," he said.
