Tim Tebow Plans To Report To Jets Voluntary Workouts? What Does This Mean For The Former Florida Gator's Future

Tim Tebow to stay committed to the New York Jets for as long as he's wearing their uniform because Tebow is expected to appear at voluntary workouts during the offseason.

He is still under contract for two more years, but he is not suspected to be on the roster come the opening of the Jets 2013 season.  It's been three months into the offseason and he has yet to be traded or even cut.

The Jets did sign Matt Garrad to compete for the starting quarterback job with Mark Sanches. This doesn't put Tebow in a good position to win the starting job.

Tebow led the Denver Broncos to a playoff victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011. He was traded to the Jets the following offseason, but used in a different role. The former Heisman Trophy winner and two-time BCS national champion was forced to play special teams, more specifically, block for the punter.

He was also sporadically used for a few downs here and there at quarterback, some snaps as the running back and even a wide receiver.

The media attention that Tebow carries with him was no different in New York. When he could have started at quarterback late in the season, he was actually out with an injury. The whole 2012 season passed and Tebow did not start in any of the 16 regular season games.

Tebow isn't the only one the Jets may be trying to move. This offseason has been full of rumors that the Jets would trade star cornerback Darrelle Revis.  They have been reported to want a first-round draft pick and the Tampa Bay Bucaneers have surfaced as the possibly favorite to land the corner who wants "quarterback" money. Revis is a free agent at the end of the 2013 season.
